In the 8th of September 2006, at „Bucharest” Hall from Phoenicia Hotel, the National Grand Lodge of Romania, member of the “United Grand Lodges of Europe” Confederation, celebrated the Romanian Masonry Day.
Alongside of the Grand Master Viorel Dănacu had participated ambassadors, members of the diplomatic corps, guests. Annual, the Romanian masons celebrate on the 8th of September the Masonry Day, in this day, in 1880, come into being the National Grand Lodge of Romania.  

 

   

   On the occasion of Romanian Masonry Day, I have the special pleasure and emotion to wish you some thoughts, hoping to appeal to your souls and minds.
 The hystory of the Romanian people has very  ancient roots,that consist in :culture-the oldest writings in the world that were discovered on the slates of Tartaria in Romania cannot be forgotten, faith-a Christian -Orthodox people, a people that has never lost faith, the army-that defended this holy land whenever it was necessary,the peasant-who loved both land and  family and masonry-that united this people by its wisdom through the Great Union at Alba Iulia.
 Those five pillars  maintained the Romanian nation along centuries, together with honesty, work, truth and justice.Thus, the Romanian nation proves to be really God Mother’s garden, in the way the ex- Sovereign Pontiff, Pope, Joan the –II-nd  asserted.
 The Romanian masonry was first  founded in the Grand Masonic Lodge on September, 8, 1880. Since then, it has been striving to approach people, to make them better so as to become good Romanians by love of people, to the glory of the Great Architect of Universe, the creator of the world whom we worship.
 The masonic unity of the Romanians of the time is impressive and make us feel that only common work enables us to fulfill our lives in solidarity and thus we will be able to find the energy and force of spiritual elevation and we will successfully submit ourselves to the control of the Greatest Architect of Universe.

All those who understood that a man’s value lies in his mind and in what he gives to others, all those who put their knowledge to work, their deeds, their generosity as well as those who will join this enthusiasm  and perfection, those will be the makers of this treaty of union-the Francmasonry.
Francmasonry proclaims and comprises behaviours, knowledge, it is universal, timeless, beyond all epochs, it does not belong to any trend and is only open to free, moral and financially independant people.
Tolerance is a feature characteristic only of the strong, of the self-possessed people.
Thus, we shall remain faithful to our committments, by working and by following the guidelines of Francmasonic way of feeling and thinking , as words without deeds worth nothing.
I would like to tell to the brothers of the Confederation of the Greatest United Lodges of Europe, of which we are members with full rights, as well as to the brothers of other continents of the world of the other lodges, with which we have concluded treaties of friendship and recognition, that the Romanian Francmasonic members have been working continuously for the integration in the great masonic European and universal family.
Our formation, our commitment, the responsability for every situation and the dialogue between all Masonic Obediences accomplish a unity of the masonry in Europe and the  whole world, a strong, traditional, regular, moral and spiritual unity.
The Romanian Masonry of Ancient and Accepted Scottish Rite means a stable, well-balanced partner, which will work in harmony with the Amercian Massonery like two wings of the same body, so that we could build the magnificent work-Humanity, together with the traditional masonries from other continents in which the Grand Romanian Lodge has a special interest.
I would like to thank the brothers and the friends for the effort, the perseverance and the tolerance they proved, by keeping the steady traditional , spiritual, moral work.
I would like to congratulate on the brothers and friends gathered here from all counties of the country,as they understood that freedom is the most precious gift given to them by the Greatest Architect of Universe, that freedom is light that nobody has the right to take it or blacken it.
I would also like to thank the friends invited from the part of administration, state, Government, embassies, cultural, educational and art institutions,  press, television and radio for having the kindness and comprehension to join us on this celebration day of the Romanian Masonry.
I would especially like to thank your Excellence, Mr Ambassadors and cultural attaches present here.
Thank you all of you who haven’t come, but sent us congratulation messages .
Not lastly, I wish to thank our hosts, the management of Phoenicia Hotel and brother Relu Sebastian, who offered us the possibility of celebrating this masonic event.
