The Masonry in its generality is an initiatical complex of the free people, which accede through knowledge at the wells of the Great Creation, all for the Glory of The Great Architect of the Universe.
The mason has the obligation to treasure with discretion and honor his membership to the Franc Masonic Order. Practically, he must not reveal anything about the Masonic work.
Not a very long time ago, talking to a distinguished lady about her husband, she told me: “Oh, I had no idea that my husband is mason. The children didn’t know about this either. I have found out a few years ago. He said that he was going to some meetings, but he didn’t tell us anything and nor me or the children have asked him about what happens there.”
Of course, the rigorousness of the order, through the rules that maintained the confrere thousands of years, indicates the conscience of every person that gave his word at the beginning.  
Only the keeping of these secrets maintained unaltered the Masonic work, the power of the order and its respect in the world. The Franc Masonry past through different steps that permitted its reaching.  Sometimes these were unwanted, some other times these were out of lack of knowledge or adaptation, or ill-will. But what was clear, healthy and natural remained and continued to exist until this day.
The presence of the Franc Masonry in Romania, somewhat more intense now, even explosive, was seen as an evidence of freedom.
The freedom gained after 1989 must be maintained, cultivated and consolidated permanently, so that the people can continue through improvement of their own intellectual faculties, researching and listening at the light of the Truth.
Our country has offered such a complex of events and moments, sometimes reputable and other times nefarious for the Romanians. But we have continued through consciousness, faith and love for people
This period, named of transition, accommodation, tolerance, has had an impact on each association of free people.
So, the Masonry has suffered some ups and downs, dew to lack of knowledge, information, where the manipulation and disinformation were very important „Divide and conquer” was an extremist method which cultivated only hate, lie, ill-will, the things that the Franc Masons fight against, to eliminate them.
The existence of some malevolent or people that don’t have the knowledge, on the hands of which was the Masonry after 1989, lead to a decline in the masonry. Practically, it wasn’t a relationship from a position of equality, a relationship from free man to free man, from mason to mason declaratively, and lucratively, practically very little.
The lack of experience, the deviations immediately appeared or practically said: “he deserves not the sweet that will not taste the sour” were as natural as the society we live in. This is why, the decantation, sedimentation, settlement of the Masonic work regular, traditional and spiritual, started after 16 years, after a period of transition, which we consider closed.
All that has happened in this period remains as unforgettable rough guide in the history of the Romanian Masonry and should not repeat. These must be recorded and the future generations should learn from them, as a period of a new born child that, with very little help, doesn’t know where to head to or what his goal is.
I have identified each day masons willing to continue the work they have just discovered. There is a need for opening to all the Brothers and a need to have a dialog with them, with the Romanian and foreign Brothers, that can support us in our research of the true mysteries of the Franc Masonry.
A short time ago, I have been to Vienna and Paris, where I have participated to really Masonic meetings, through the importance and the high level of approaching and interpretation of theories, documents and proofs of the Franc Masonry from the Balkans, Europe and around the world.
It is very necessary to eliminate the wasted time with sterile discussions, that don’t bring any advantage to the sublime improvement of mankind
The connections we have, with initiated and sometimes uninitiated people, concerning the research of the history of Romanian and universal Franc Masonry indicates the high level that we tend to reach.
The knowledge brings light, and the work settles on its normal, natural, traditional, regular and spiritual track.
The new stage of reconstruction, of regeneration of the Romanian Masonry, is in the hands of the conscious people, that have connections with the exterior world and that have engaged through their vows to continue the work for the next generations, work that will support and help the development of Romania.

It is a great pleasure, for us, to be present at the creation of this magazine printed by the Regional Centre for Franc Masonic Studies – Paris – Bucharest.
Created at the initiative of the Romanian brothers, competent and of high quality, this “Masonic Word” is destined to unveil in front of the public, the true appearance of the Masonry, its tradition, its goals, its truths.
Too many profanes still think that the Franc Masonry is a secret society, that unites people, that consecrates to diabolic rituals.
But one of the great virtues of the franc masonry is the absence of dogmas, respect towards all religions, towards all the faiths of mankind, as little or as sincere as these may be.
The masons are engaged to respect the opinions of others, because they are oriented towards common – wealth.
The political, religious, racist discussions are excluded from the lodges’ works, which are consecrated to edifying everyone, understanding each other, to fraternity.  The result of all good deeds, of any origin, of any type of thinking, the masons have the ambition to participate at the elaboration of a better world, in which the fraternity is not a simple word, it becomes reality.
The masonry is not a secret society, is a discreet one, in which every individual discovers its origins and the moral wealth transmitted by our ancestors. Let us not forget that our tradition permitted us to become what we are now
Too many people ignore the fact that the trilogy “liberty – equality – fraternity” was born in the Masonic lodges. 
“Masonic Word” is the first magazine of this type in Romania. The brothers that conceived this magazine are people that beneficiate of our full trust, because we know the human quality, the thirst of finding the truth.
We want to congratulate them because they bring the light to the public.
It is time to put an end to the ignoble literature, published by false brothers.
The only important fact is the generous upsurge, the great desire to improve, in order to use their knowledge for the wellbeing of the others.
To conclude, I am directing to those so called omniscient in their speeches:
“Speak only if you have something to say,
otherwise silence is more beautiful”
I want to thank one more time to our brothers that had the courage to start this project.
We wish them all the luck they deserve.

The Regional Centre for Franc Masonic Studies Paris – Bucharest together with The Grand National Lodge of Romania organised and opened a Masonic Museum, a Shop and a Library.
Masonic Museum is an achievement of great success because it reveals for the first time masonic items and documents from the inter-war period to nowadays that have been used to Great Union Act – sealing forever the Romanian unity – with one country, one faith and one Leader.
Masonic Museum joins the Masonic collections from our country, for example the Masonic collection of Baron Samuel von Brukenthal, Masonic collection of The Grand Master Sadoveanu, Masonic collections of the Romanian Academy Library, The National History Museums from Bucharest and Cluj-Napoca – the Masonic collection of the Grand Orient of Romania.
It is know that Vaida the prince with all members of the delegation who attended the Paris Peace Conference of 1919 – have been initiated into the Worshipful Lodge “Ernest Renan” under the Grand Orient of France.
Hereby the Romanian diplomacy was close to major foreign chanceries to pursue national interests.
Here it is the contribution of the Grand Orient and not someone else to the beneficial changes that Romania has passed.
In the future the Regional Centre for Franc Masonic Studies Paris Bucharest intends to organize large-scale Masonic exhibitions, open to all Romanians, so that we understand better our history.
We host in May the largest masonic event since 1989, named the works of the Coordinating Council AMMLA – The Association of Masonic Museums, Libraries and Archives based in Brussels – virtually the entire globe.
The Regional Centre for Franc Masonic Studies Paris Bucharest organizes two Masonic exhibitions with the support of the Romanian Academy and the National History Museum of Romania, which will present documents, items belonging to above institutions and to other museums and libraries from our country, which the Regional Center has identified over the years.
It is an opportunity for us to show AMMLA members, Masonic personalities, that Romania has a history, a Masonic tradition for several hundred years ago, that we are a Christian people, who occupied the legitimate place in the world.

Dictionary of Masonic Terminology

-Freemasonry is an initiatic society, with a traditional form, composed of lodges and obediences
-Lodge is the basic unit of Freemasonry
-Lodge is autonomous and sovereign
-Obedience is the administrative body in charge of Masonry that brings together several lodges of a State or a several states
-Obedience are called Grand Lodges or the Great Orients
- An obedience is leaded by a Grand Master and a Grand Council, democratically elected following a Convent of representatives of all lodges.
-During the lodge works are present the Masonic symbols: the Sacred Book of the Law, The Square and Compass, the national flag and the coat of arms of the lodge.
-The place where lodge meetings are held is called Temple
-Within the lodges can only get three degrees: degree 1 (entered apprentice), grade 2 (companion or fellow craft) and grade 3 (master mason)
- From the degree of a Master, brothers may rise to other degrees in practicing one of Masonic rites. For example the Ancient and Accepted Scottish Rite includes the degrees from the 4 to the 33.
